正当外界以为日本电子巨头日落西山时,索尼却以重回成长轨道的业绩诉说着“我还在”。

  3月27日下午,在广州举行的“索尼魅力赏”上,索尼宣布在中国市场正式推出OLED电视A1。时隔十年重返OLED电视阵营,索尼(中国)董事长兼总裁高桥洋向笔者表示,这体现了索尼高端产品的战略,而且经过十年努力,OLED技术的民用已经成熟。

 

  坚守消费电子市场的同时,索尼还涉足了新的领域。在中国市场,索尼今年首次推出了可编程教育机器人套件KOOV。高桥洋透露,这是索尼去年刚开发出来的,目前只在日本和中国市场销售,目的是培养孩子的创意,尤其是激发孩子编程方面的才能。

  2016财年三季度(2016年10-12月),索尼中国的销售收入重返成长轨道,同比增长了12.8%,这是自2014年索尼转售VAIO笔记本电脑业务后,索尼中国业务首次获得重新增长。高桥洋说,这得益于集中精力做好高端产品,锁定富裕、时尚年轻的目标顾客群,并精简机构、降本运营成本。

  索尼中国2017财年的目标是销售收入和利润的增速,均超过本地GDP的增幅。高桥洋透露,继上海、北京、成都、广州之后,今年下半年索尼将在深圳开设在中国的第五家直营店。在电子整机产品之外,影像传感器等元器件业务将是索尼中国未来最有潜力的增长点。

  谈OLED:索尼不受面板限制

  早在2007年,索尼就曾推出全球首台OLED电视,后来却一直以液晶电视主打,为什么时隔十年索尼又重返OLED电视阵营呢?

  高桥洋在接受笔者专访时表示,十年前产品上市后,索尼没有停止研发OLED,在医疗、广播领域,一直提供OLED监视器,但如果拿到民用领域,一是价格问题,二是有技术难题。经过十年努力,以往技术问题解决了,OLED面板可以量产化,并应用到索尼的产品上。再加上索尼在电视上的技术积累,如处理芯片,索尼既可以选择做液晶电视,也可以选择做OLED电视。目前,索尼将OLED电视定位高端产品。

  今年以来,量子点电视与OLED电视的交锋激烈。索尼也曾经在业界率先应用量子点背光技术来改善电视画质,如今却重新站到了OLED电视阵营。但是,目前全球OLED电视面板只有LGD一家供应商,上游资源有限、成本较高,索尼OLED A1的55英寸、65英寸产品售价分别高达24999元和35999元。

  对此,高桥洋表示,索尼之所以选择OLED,是因为利用OLED,索尼能做出声画一体、无需外置音箱的独特产品。索尼没有自己的面板厂,反而不受限制,其它技术也在不断尝试。

  谈教育机器人:不是普通玩具

  曾经推出过WALKMAN等划时代产品的索尼,不想被人看作“英雄迟暮”。它在消费电子领域聚焦高端的同时,也不断推出新玩意。

  今年2月,索尼在日本和中国市场,同时推出的可编程教育机器人套件KOOV,让人耳目一新。一堆五颜六色的塑料粒,能“折腾”出各种不同形状的小机器人。

  高桥洋告诉笔者,KOOV不只是玩具,编程才是核心,孩子可以下载已有的软件做成玩具,也可以创造新方法,做出不同的机器人。

 

  KOOV暂时不会推出人型机器人。高桥洋说,目前这些可编程教育机器人套件,只在索尼直营店和北京索尼探梦馆出售,今后条件成熟的话,也会考虑与学校等机构进行合作。但是,今年在中国市场首先要“定好位”,KOOV既不是一般的教育机器人,也不只是玩具,而是网上编程与机器人的结合。

  谈转型:全球销售成本降两成

  已有70年历史的索尼,与其它日本电子巨头类似,近年也遭遇了业绩危机,消费电子业务曾连续数年亏损。不同的是,经过几年变革转型,索尼的消费电子业务已重新盈利。

  “我们所有的消费电子业务,目前都已经盈利,索尼手机业务2016财年也预计盈利”。高桥洋向第一财经记者揭开了背后的“秘密”:“我们高端产品的策略选对了,执行得比较好;架构改革后,操作的运营成本下降,同样的销售金额,以前亏本,现在盈利。”

  去年接任索尼(中国)总裁一职前,高桥洋曾负责管理索尼全球消费电子产品的销售。他回忆说,索尼CFO(首席财务官)向他施压,要求索尼全球营销体系的成本要下降两成。

  但当时,索尼在全球的销售公司,每家都有理由说成本难以下降。高桥洋就不厌其烦地讲,不降成本,就不能盈利;不能盈利,就不能给“索粉”(索尼的用户和粉丝)提供服务。后来,索尼在全球各地的销售公司反复研究,每一项工作是否一定要做,哪些可以精简。

  比如,以前索尼在美国有许多直营店,现在很多被关掉了。高桥洋说,索尼直营店毛利高,但成本也高,成本表现不佳的就会关掉,“过程很痛苦,因为这会让一些消费者失望”。

  渠道精简的前提,是产品精简。像索尼电视已经不做2K、小尺寸产品,40英寸也只是少量生产,主要聚焦在55英寸以上的大屏市场。合作的经销商数量也减少,只与有能力经营高端产品的经销商合作。这使索尼销售体系的人数也相应减少,效益得到提升。

  谈中国市场:元器件业务潜力大

  高桥洋在中国走马上任一年,索尼中国的销售收入已重返成长轨道。这同样受益于上述“选择和集中”的策略。他说,不选择,精力、财力就会分散掉。

  2016财年第三季,索尼中国的收入同比增长12.8%。高桥洋说,索尼中国旗下目前有民品、专业器材和元器件三大板块的业务,其中元器件业务增长最快。

 

  民品方面,索尼的全画幅微单相机继续扩大市场份额;音频产品潜力很大,中国有约5亿台手机在使用,如果10%的用户重新购买耳机,也已经是不得了的市场;彩电业务上规模很难,但中国是全球最大的4K电视市场,索尼希望在高端市场获取更多份额。

  “我们的成长战略,是选择自己优势与市场需求的结合点。”高桥洋说,索尼的元器件,特别是影像传感器,主要用于智能手机,今后无人机、安防系统、车载系统等都有需求。“这是我们的优势,除了整机,索尼元器件未来在中国市场将有很大的成长空间。”

  除了硬件,索尼游戏、影视、音乐等娱乐内容业务在中国市场也加快拓展步伐。最受瞩目的,是索尼的游戏业务。高桥洋说,中国庞大的游戏市场中,手机游戏、电脑游戏居多,专用机游戏市场只占2%,而美国专用机在游戏市场占30%的份额。原因是软件不足,索尼PS4在中国市场的游戏软件只有92款,而在美国、日本市场都有上百款的游戏软件。

  这一局面正在慢慢改变。索尼互动娱乐(上海)有限公司总裁添田武人说,“中国已是全球最大的游戏市场,但家庭游戏占比小,只有2%,希望家庭游戏成为新蓝海”。他透露,除了把国外的游戏软件拿到中国市场,还会培养中国的游戏开发团队,去年8月索尼游戏已公布了中国之星计划。此外,索尼PS4的VR(虚拟现实头盔)全球累计销量已达91.5万台,今年3月会扩产,将改变目前供不应求的状况。

  通过硬件与软件结合,索尼希望更好地粘住“索粉”。今年下半年,索尼将在深圳开设它在中国的第五家直营店,扩大凝聚索粉的基地。高桥洋透露,索尼在直营店有会员制,会员不只有打折优惠,还能率先体验新品、参加产品使用培训,索尼在国内的会员有500万。
